Our Experience

​Nancy Wight's experience in education is unparalleled. With over thirty years of teaching experience, she continues to deliver high quality language education to her students and clients, helping guide each person towards achieving their desired goals. In combining this with her dedication and tremendous work ethic, she has achieved much success in her life as an educator and facilitator.

​

Her background includes:

​

  • Master Degree in Education in Literacy from Mount Saint Vincent University (2003)

​

  • Bachelor Degree in Education from the University of New Brunswick (1987)

​

  • Diplôme en français langue seconde - Université Laval (1988)

​

  • 32 years of teaching in the PEI public school system, including: Late French Immersion, Early French Immersion, Regular English program, and EAL (English as an Additional Language)

​

  • Private teaching one-on-one and small groups, English and French as a second language

​

  • Newcomer Empowerment Program: lead instructor and curriculum developer for a course preparing newcomer women for the PEI workforce

​

  • Differentiated Instruction and Assessment: the ongoing use of assessment to gather information about where students are in their learning and about their readiness, interests and learning preferences in order to vary a student's learning environment, instruction, and assessment and evaluation.

​

  • Blended or Hybrid Learning  - using a mixture of classroom in-person techniques, along with online technologies

​

In addition, to Nancy's vast experience, she also has background support from her husband Windsor, who also has over 30 years in education as both a teacher and a principal.

​

Together, they bring 60+ years in the field and are able to support language and literacy learning for all students who come through their doors!
